TRIBUNNEWS.IT – A magnitude 5.1 earthquake shook Maluku this afternoon, Monday (22/5/2023) at 11:45:23 AM WIB.
This was communicated by the Agency of Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) through the Twitter account @infoBMKG.
“Earthquake May: 5.1, 22-May-23 11:45:23 WIB, Lok: 6.53 S latitude, 129.16 E longitude (235 km NE of MALUKUBRTDAYA), depth: 10 km, no tsunami potential”, wrote the BMKG statement, on Wednesday (5/10/2023).
It is known that the epicenter was in the sea 235 km northeast of the southwestern Moluccas with a depth of 10 km.
BMKG has appealed to the people of Indonesia to pay attention to the aftershocks that may occur.
BMKG also stated that this earthquake did not have the potential to cause a tsunami.

I MMI
The vibrations of the earthquake cannot be felt except in exceptional circumstances by some people.

The earthquake vibrations were felt inside the house.
