TRIBUNNEWS.IT – Stefano Pioli is determined to avenge AC Milan’s loss to Inter Milan when they were beaten 0-2 in the first leg of their Champions League semi-finals last week.

Now the Inter-Milan match will be presented at Giuseppe Meazza return on Wednesday (17/5/2023) at 02:00 WIB.

Pioli admits that Milan have made several mistakes in recent games, including against Inter in the first leg.

Though now trailing by two goals, the bald coach is still fairly confident his side can turn things around in the second leg.

Evaluated Milan’s performance in the first leg. According to him, there are several records that Simon Kjaer and others need to improve in the second leg.

One of Inter’s strengths that worries him is when he takes set pieces in set piece situations. According to him this is one of the greatest strengths of the Nerazzurri.

In the final first leg, the Red Devils conceded a set-piece goal from a corner kick.

At that moment, Edin Dzeko managed to win the duel in the penalty area and fired a half-volley that hit Mike Maignan’s goal.

This became the first goal which then boosted his opponent’s enthusiasm to score again three minutes later.

“We have to be careful (from set pieces),” Pioli said before the second leg, quoted by Football Italia.

“This is one of our opponent’s greatest strengths. We also have to take advantage of the opportunities that happen to us, better than the first leg, Inter defended themselves very well.”

After losing the first leg 0-2 against Inter Milan, the Rossoneri lost again in Serie A against a last-leg side by the same score.

Spezia’s two winning goals also came from set pieces, from corners and even from free kicks in front of the penalty area.

Milan are pretty bad at anticipating set-piece patterns. Pioli has also instructed his team not to let their guard down in this situation.
