What is the average monthly total cost of living in Japan for accommodation, food, transportation and also daily expenses?

The cost of renting an apartment in Japan
While living in Japan, I moved 4 times (hehe, a lot) and I must admit that renting an apartment here is not easy with the status foreigner.

Until now, spacious room 1DK means separate room and dining room/kitchen. Toilet, shower and separate toilet. The kitchen and veranda are also spacious. Distance from station is 12 minutes, konbini is 1 minute because it’s just in front of apato.
Tokyo: Size 1K sekitar 23m2/¥85,000, Internet inclusive/ utilities ¥14,000 (electricity ¥7000, water ¥2000, gas ¥5000). Distance from the station 5 minutes, konbini 3 minutes. I live in Shiomi, so it’s only 7 minutes away from my office which is located in Tokyo station with train.
One can say so The cost of renting an apartment in Japan is quite high.
If you live in an apartment 40 minutes – 1 hour away with train with the same price I should be able to get 2x size or better apartment.
But because I have claustrophobia, I know I can’t drive a crowded train.
Rush hour in Tokyo it’s really not a joke.
Luckily I just needed to go up local train Come and go from the office so you can sit down.

Cost of eating in Japan
I had lunch from work so this is the price for breakfast/dinner.
A meal out sort of average yoshinoya/sukiya/udon/ramen/Mcdonald’s ¥550-¥1000.
Self take away bento box or buy at konbini averages ¥500-¥700.
Fantasy lunch coffee wing ¥1000 – ¥1600.
If you buy coffee at a convenience store, the average is ¥130 black ¥200 latte for regular size.
Meanwhile, the cheapest bar is now ¥550 per cup.
For dinner it can be more expensive.
I’m normal spend around ¥2000-¥3000 per dinner out with friends – OR of cafe, bistro, ato izakaya.
It could be more expensive – until ¥5000 – if I order an alcoholic drink.
Prices for daily needs
It’s much cheaper to cook.
But if you like cooking vegetables, the real vegetables here are expensive, the cheapest are cabbage (1 piece ¥200) and bean sprouts ¥50 a pack.
For comparison, regular bokchoy fills 2 here ¥150, spinach ¥200, broccoli ¥250, chives 1 unting ¥200.
More meat and fish in my opinion cheap compared to vegetables.
Fruit? Don’t ask, mahaaaall!!
Normal my shopping expenses or grocery shop a week is ¥3000 plus fruit/snacks ¥3000.
If you add approx ¥30,000 a month.
Originally, other people should be cheaper, just because I can’t break free from the habit of eating fruit, spend only to buy fruit is as big as grocery shophaha.

- Rice (1kg): ¥800
- Eggs (12 seeds): ¥330
- Fresh milk (1L): ¥250
- Tomato (1kg): ¥600-¥900
- Chicken (1kg): ¥1000
Transportation costs in Japan
Rates for a ride on public transport:
- Bus: ¥220
- JR: ¥170
- Metro: ¥210
Transportation costs to my office ¥5600/monthhe’s taking a walk in Tokyo right now weekend ¥3000.

Miscellaneous expenses
To go to the park/shrine/sanctuary here is free, but to go to museums and other attractions are all paid.
There are other productions that I usually produce toiletries ¥1500, laundry ¥2000, snacks ¥10,000.
That’s the same as the cost of eating with friends from the office, right?
We usually eat it once a month nomikai after office hoursusually around ¥3000-¥5000.
