AMPONTOONS.COM, JAKARTA – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) chaired the ASEAN Leaders’ Interface with the High-Level Task Force on the ASEAN Community Post-2025 Vision Meeting (HLTF-ACV) in Labuan Bajo, Wednesday (5/ 10/2023).
The meeting was part of the 42nd ASEAN summit attended by leaders of Southeast Asian countries.
The HLTF is a task force compiling ASEAN’s post-2025 vision towards ASEAN 2045. In his remarks, President Jokowi said that discussions or meetings were held to elaborate the thoughts that out of the box and transformative in order to develop a post-2025 ASEAN vision.
“Therefore, ASEAN leaders will hear directly from the high-level task force reports and plans for the future,” he said.
The President appreciated the hard work of the members high-level task force in this last year. According to the President, ASEAN must be really ready to face increasingly complex challenges.
“We must prepare for the worst, but still hope for the best,” President Jokowi said.
Jokowi said the role of the high-level task force here has been critical in identifying future challenges and opportunities. As well as ensuring ASEAN’s contribution to the progress of the region and the world.
“ASEAN Vision 2045 must be more adaptable and farsightedI cannot business as usual,” he said.
