Kawisari Coffee Farm Shop & Eatery Bali is now open for coffee breaks, tea time, brunch… and everything in between! Found adjacent to the Tugu Bali Hotel on the street front of Batu Bolong, Kawisari invites patrons to savor beverages and dishes made with organic produce from the oldest coffee plantation in East Java.
THE Tugu Kawisari coffee plantation it sits on the slopes of Mount Kelud, East Java, in addition to looming Mount Kawi, the plantation’s namesake. Founded in 1870, it comprises 850 hectares of fertile land, 1,000 meters above sea level, where conditions are ripe for the cultivation of Robusta and Arabica. These are hand-picked and processed to create Tugu Kawisari coffee, which won a prestigious agricultural product award at AVPA Paris 2019 for its medium dark Robusta. It literally makes for a perfect cup of Java! This is sold and served in the Kawisari shop where guests can choose from a selection of organic beans and roasts, either freshly prepared or to take home. The shop also stocks other plantation-grown organic products, including teas, honey, spreads, fresh fruit jams, and delicious chocolate truffles.
Previously only available for retail and takeout, the Kawisari Coffee Farm Shop & Eatery Bali it expanded to the second floor, inviting guests to dine. You’ll find a variety of farm-to-table fare, including authentic Indonesian fare, a classic brunch menu, vegan options, and hearty sandwiches. The restaurant prides itself on producing one of the best sourdoughs on the island, among other delicious baked goods. The new second floor boasts welcoming outdoor space, as well as cozy indoor space, great for meeting friends or settling down for some work.
