AMPONTOONS.COM, JAKARTA – Arif Dzakwanuddin, coordinator for MSME and business, Indonesian Millennial Mobilizer (SME), assessed that local MSMEs have the potential to move to global scale through the HUB program for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The SMEs HUB program was initiated by the Ministry of SOE through the Rumah BUMN initiative as an effort to encourage local SMEs to go global.
The SME HUB is located in the area of Waterfront Marina, Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara and is a series of side events for the ASEAN Summit 2023 targeting delegates from ASEAN countries and the general public.
Arif believes that the activity of the SME HUB is proof that SOEs are ready to encourage SMEs to go global through mentoring and funding, including coaching.
“Activities like this really help local MSMEs to present their products on the international scene,” Arif said when contacted by reporters on Wednesday (17/5/2023).
Furthermore, Arif affirmed BUMN Minister Erick Thohir’s seriousness in raising the MSME class to international standards in the form of expansion facilitated by the BUMN ministry.
In particular to support MSMEs assisted by BUMN by creating an e-catalogue and PaDi BUMN application to facilitate transactions in the digital world.
“There is a lot of evidence that Mr. Erick is serious about taking MSMEs global,” he added.
Furthermore, Arif hopes that MSME players can take advantage of this momentum to move to a higher class of MSMEs, namely MSMEs that are globally competitive.
FYI, SME HUB engages 50 MPMI players after going through a very rigorous curation process. Ten of them are local MSMEs and the rest are MSMEs assisted by Rumah BUMN and other ministries.
The MSME booth at the SME HUB sells various types of local products, ranging from typical foods and drinks, textiles, ethnic handicrafts and others.
As one of the SOEs participating in the SME HUB, Peruri also promotes its SMEs to showcase themselves in this prestigious international event in Southeast Asia.
