AMPONTOONS.COM, JAKARTA – The Santri Economic Empowerment Institute (LPES) has welcomed the success of the Indonesia U-22 national team in winning a gold medal after winning 5-2 over Thailand in the 2023 SEA Games soccer final.
LPES Secretary General Ubaidillah Amin said the success was the result of the work of all parts of the national team, one of which was the leadership of Erick Thohir as PSSI General President.
“President Jokowi was not wrong to appoint Erick Thohir as his confidant. In his cold hands everything entrusted to him has succeeded,” Ubaidillah told reporters on Wednesday (17/5/2023).
Ubaidillah said, after the Indonesian football world fasted for a title on the international stage, now people can be proud of the gold medal.
“Fast football on the international stage, this proves that Indonesian football in the hands of the right people can be able to win international events. Mr. Erick Thohir as president of PSSI has proven himself capable of being a shrewd, reliable and experienced coach at internationally,” he added.
According to him, with an ability of the caliber of Erick, who has always had a good resume in all fields, it was time for the former Inter coach to become the leader of Indonesia.
“I’m sure Pak Erick Thohir will be able to manage Indonesia in all fields internationally, not just football,” he said.
According to him, Indonesia must once again become a tiger in the eyes of the international community in the hands of the right people.
“It’s time for Indonesia to rise from all its backwardness. Thank you Mr. Jokowi, thank you Mr. Erick Thohir for making Indonesian football fans. I am proud as a NU youth to have a NU senior of the caliber of Mr. Erick Thohir” , She said.
In this heated match, Indonesia managed to win with a convincing 5-2 score from Thailand.

The 2-2 score forced both teams to continue the match into overtime.
