President Jokowi and G7 leaders visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park

AMPONTOONS.COM, HIROSHIMA – Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by Mrs. Iriana Jokowi visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park on Sunday (05/21/2023).

The visit was part of the G7 Outreach Summit agenda.

Arriving around 08:30 local time, President and Mrs. Iriana were welcomed by Hiroshima Prefectural Governor Hidehiko Yuzaki and Hiroshima Mayor Kazumi Matsui.

The two then headed together to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.

Afterwards, the president and other state leaders signed the guest book and then, along with other leaders, went to the memorial or cenotaph.

In front of the monument, the President and the heads of state then celebrated a wreath-laying ceremony and paid tribute to the victims of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima.

On another occasion, Ibu Iriana, together with Ibu Yuko Kishida and accompanying leaders of the G7 partner countries, also held a wreath-laying ceremony at the monument and paid tribute to the victims of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima.
