TRIBUNNEWS.IT – The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) said it was ready to protect employees who are victims of sexual harassment, such as invitations to stay as a way to extend employment contracts.
LPSK Vice President Maneger Nasution said that the case of stay as a condition for the extension of the employment contract can be classified as a form of criminal act of sexual assault as stipulated in the Law No. 12 of 2022 on Crimes of Violence sexual (TPSK).
“Especially where the offense was committed by key or important people within the company, the law has regulated penalties for companies that have proven to be involved as offenders,” the manager told Tribunnews .com, Tuesday (9/5/2023).
A sojourn case can be classified as an act of sexual exploitation and/or an act of decency that goes against the will of the victim if the victim was induced by the offender to commit an act that violates decency.
“That the pressure on victims of sexual assault is quite heavy because there is often re-victimization against them, especially victims who want to speak out and appear in public,” she said.
“LPSK appreciates the victim’s courage in disclosing the sexual assault incident they have experienced. For this reason, LPSK stands ready to provide protection to those involved,” he continued.

The manager continued, currently LPSK has been making contact with the victims represented by their legal advisers in order to follow up on the filing of a claim which was filed with LPSK on Saturday (6/5/2023).

The alleged harassment of female workers in Cikarang is known to have circulated in the news that it was going viral on social media through a Twitter account @Miduk17.
“Many are talking about contract extensions at companies in Cik*rang area. There are bosses of companies requesting STAYCATION with employees to get contract extensions. Terrible thing, this turns out to be a PUBLIC SECRET of the company and almost every employees know,” tweet @Miduk17 quoted on Thursday (4/5/2023).
An employee of a company in Cikarang who was a victim of sexual harassment by her boss, AD (24), is known to have filed a complaint with the Bekasi Metro Police last Saturday (6/5/2023).
AD was accompanied by a member of the Republic of Indonesia DPR, Obon Tabroni, and a member of the Bekasi DPRD regency of the PDIP faction, Nyumarno.
AD’s action to report sexual harassment to the police should be supported, because it is not easy for victims to report what happened to them.
“This concerns the power relationship between superiors and victims,” said Komnas Perempuan commissioner Rainy Hutabarat on Saturday (6/5/2023).
